Photographers from all countries are invited to join this unique event. Tuition will be given in English and Norwegian and interpreted to Polish for those who want.

We spend all the time from morning to late evening on photography at this workshop. In between we eat lunch and dinner at good restaurants in Stare Miasto - the old town of Kraków or in the Jewish district of Kazimierz. Every morning we go through photos from the day before and you get feedback that you can take with you when you go out on the streets again with your camera, I am with the workshop group all the time and share inspiration as well as give input and guidance while photographing along the way. At the same time, I am also your tour guide on the trip. After several trips to Kraków I am quite well-known in the city and will take you to the most exciting photo spots.

In addition to the photography, you will also get an insight into the history of the city and the Jewish history of Kraków and of the historical region of Galicja to which the city belongs. Kraków was formerly the capital of Poland and Europe's second university (second only to Prague) was established here. We will also visit the old university buildings during the workshop.

We stay in the historic district of Kazimierz - which is often referred to as the Jewish Quarter. This was until the 19th century a separate city, but grew together with Kraków. Kazimierz was founded by the Polish king Kazimierz the Great in the 14th century. During the Second World War, the district was significantly destroyed, but much of it has been rebuilt. In the district we find two of Europe's most famous Jewish cemeteries and we will visit these with a camera. In addition, there are several synagogues. Today, Kazimierz is one of the most exciting and complex districts in Europe. The history is clearly visible through the old buildings. The streets are characterized by great contrasts. Here you will find young hipsters, artists, cultural organizers and Orthodox Jews all around each other.

In the streets of the old town, we will explore both architecture and the people who live in the city. You will be challenged to create images and stories that differ from the well-known “tourist snaps”. We walk between Kazimier and Stare Miasto (Old Town) so that we have plenty of time to explore life in the city. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Kazimierz to the Old Town Market Square.

The workshop is organized for both digital and analog photographers. If you prefer to shoot use film, you will have the opportunity to submit for development (135 and 120 film in color or black & white) every afternoon and have finished images (negatives, reflex copies and digital files) delivered the next day.

Every morning after breakfast we gather in a meeting room and go through the pictures from the previous day. Here you can get feedback on the photos you have taken if you wish.

The workshop is organized both for photographers with digital cameras and photographers who use cameras with photographic film. If you prefer to shoot with film, you will have the opportunity to submit for development (135 and 120 film in color or black & white) every afternoon and have finished images (negatives, reflex copies and digital files) delivered the next day.
